The soil, of morainic origin, was formed on recently eroded material at the foot of the slopes and in the valleys, and the soil is particularly rich in mineral salts. Our choice of becoming winemakers in the eastern hills of Piedmont was not casual, but a well-reasoned yet sentimental decision.
